We knew that when we moved to Texas we would be saying goodbye to some of the things that we truly loved about Georgia. One of the things that we knew that we would miss the most was the change of the seasons. There is just something truly beautiful about the golden color that the trees of the North Georgia Mountains turn in mid-October. So, this year we were missing that ever so much. However, someone told us that the pine trees of East Texas also turn each year. To find out we decided to have an adventure! We packed the car full of snacks and water and hit the road. We traveled about three hours out to the middle of East Texas. We were blown away by the truly beautiful colors and scenery. We stumbled upon a gorgeous state park and took a few mile hike around the lake. It was simply breath taking. I think that we learned that day that there is truly beauty everywhere; you just have to be willing to go look for it!
